On the first day of Camp at El Cerrito High School, we will get your camper checked in, make sure that all of their forms are submitted, hand you their “pick-up placard,” give them a name-tag and have your camper join his / her camp team.
While we continue to check-in our campers, your child is free to play on the field, meet new friends and get acquainted with his/her counselors. Around 9:15am or when all of the campers are checked-in, the counselors will gather their camp team for our first all camp meeting and camp orientation.
After the first day of camp, the main field and parking lot will be set up for you to simply pull up and drop-off your camper at El Cerrito High School with our camp staff (there is no need to park). We will walk them over to our check-in tables and get them to their camp team. Camper check-in starts every morning at 8:45am.
In the afternoon, we will set up the main field, parking lot and extended driveway for our camper pick-up. Enter in through the parking lot located on Eureka Ave., tell our staff member your camper’s name, and we will have them waiting for you when you pull up to the pick-up spot at the main athletic field. Camper pick-up starts every afternoon at 4:00pm. You should expect it to take as much as 10-15 minutes to go through the pick-up process safely.
If you have to pick your camper up early, be sure to let our staff know during check-in so we can get them on our “early pick-up” list. For early pick-up, please pull into the pull-out driveway off Ashbury Ave. and check-in at the office located on the west side of the cafeteria near the entrance to the gym atrium.
There are a handful of natural breaks within our daily schedule that will make it more convenient for you and will make sure that your camper gets to finish his/her camp activity. Those breaks are:
Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate early pick-ups from 3:30pm to 4:00pm as we hold closing team meetings and normal camp dismissal during that time.
Camp Olympia offers morning and afternoon extended care for an additional charge. Drop off and pick up for extended care takes place at the pull-out driveway off Ashbury Ave. AM extended care drop off is available from 8:00 – 8:45am. Afternoon extended care pick up is available from 4:15 – 6:00pm. You must display a special extended care placard in order to use extended care pick-up and drop-off at the Ashbury Ave pull-out.
Campers may not bring electronic devices to camp. We believe camp is a great opportunity for children to be independent from their parents, in a safe and supportive environment, for a short period of time. This includes: Music Players (iPods, MP3s, etc.), Hand Held Games (DS, Switch, etc.), Cell Phones, Electronic Readers (Kindles, iPads, etc.), Laptops and Radios.
As electronic devices have grown increasingly more complex (with features like video, internet access, etc.), we believe they disrupt the camp environment and have the potential to negatively impact the camper’s experience. Cameras that are not attached to an electronic device are allowed. We recommend a disposable camera.
We do not allow pets, weapons, drugs, alcohol, tobacco or other banned substances at camp.
Please label everything so we can more easily return it to you if it is left behind:
Lost and found items will be kept in a designated spot in the camp office throughout the summer. Please check with the camp directors if you believe an item of yours was left behind at camp. We are unable to store lost and found items once camp is over and we will donate any unclaimed items after the final day of camp.
If your camper needs medication during the day, it must be turned in and logged in the Camp Office. All medicine must be in the original container. Staff are not allowed to dispense any medication not in their original containers
